Earlier that night, we all went into town for a group coffee before Orla goes home, snow wasnt very bad, little did we know as we enjoyed our coffees and hot chocolates the monster snowstorm was doin its business. Orla managed to drive to Caerys' in a terrifyingly slow aaaaargh the cars sliding down the hill sorta way and I was graciously allowed to sleep on Caerys' sofa due to the fact the car was not going to make it to boucher, let alone up blacks mountain. Headed home today, luckily I managed to get taxi to about a mile or two from my house, then had to walk through 8 inches of snow up the mountain, which was a lot of fun, especially when the velcro failed bout 10 mins into my walk. Snow in shoes is not fun. Will try and take some pics here at my house 2mrw if theres still snow, phone is bein crap tonight. Not upto much except work getting till my course starts. If anyone wants to meet 2mrw leave a message here or call me if u have my number.

Yes its Gay Pride 2002! and at precisely 1 min 40 is myself, the mostrosity in the Pink/Orange wig. If anyone knows who's beside me then please let me know. At 1 min 05 you can see Blonde Aaron (!) and Curly Chris (!!) joyously taking their places (To save embarassment, and/or beatings I seem to remember them being there with leaflet or something), at 2 min 19 you can see some goths including Moi (beside some breasts of unknown ownership), next Gareth and Nicole, thebiomechanoid, Twiggy/Ryan, and others. If anyone recognised anyone please let me know and I will amend the list, or if they have an lj contact them and forward them to this post. Thanks guys. Due to my ineptitude at independent living I had to borrow money from rents. The price of that loan is moving home until I've A paid them back and B sorted my life out. I dont want to, but hey. Hence *except for a party later in the year I am throwing - details pending* I will pretty much be giving up the party-boy lifestyle I've been vomiting all over for the past few years. Thats not to say I cant have friends up for a few quiet drinks, but no drinking till dawn watching mind-expanding films and smoking way to much and propping up tesco's profit margins with my wine addiction. I'd like to take this opportunity to thank any and all of you whom I've had the pleasure of getting intoxicated with, for the tremendous generosity, both of body and spirit, and patience you have all shown me over the years. Dont worry, I'll be out occasionally and probably post here a bit more, but I'm returning to the old queen trapped in a lonely castle on a mountain. As of the end of this month I shall be up here, pretty much permanently. Thanks to biomechanoid for last night, hope u and the plantsicles get on well. Here's to an enjoyable summer, contact me for the imbibation of coffee soon. And that applies to all of you, please feel free to give me a shout re stuff. Training for work went well but got throat infection this week (1st week on calls) which has meant dossing around losing my voice and coughing lots. Hope all of u are well. Get paid soon, yay! May be stayin at The Chateau de la Guillonniere for a week in September, its just outside a town called Poitiers in France, see pic below.

You are now in the presence of a WORKING Mikal!!! As I wait for you all to pick yourselves up off the floor, I shall clarify, I start work next Monday (2nd April) for a city-center call-center. Which is nice, what even nicer is the pay. Round £1000 a month, yay! no more rent issues and lots of sparkly things for me! Not to detract from other peoples posting bout goin to the venue 2mrw but yay! I cant wait to see you all.

Ghost of the Life That Was - Mikal O'Neill

On the bus I saw her, painted with make-up to cover the dead flesh.
She turns to me as I stare, raises a finger to her lips.
I cant scream, I cant talk, I cant move.
She used to be my friend, now she's the relic I carry around.
Not a real person you might say; but real enough to me.

She saved my life and now, because I couldnt save hers she follows me.
I cant look back, she might be there, standing alone, then gone with the breeze.
Confused, muddled memories flood back, closing my eyes wont stop it.
I wander on, blinkered with darkness, eyes forward, so afraid.
At least I'm never alone...

I walk much the same streets as back then, drowned and dead in a sea of other selves.
Occasionally I almost see myself, shrouded in black, soul afire.
She walks with me, keeping pace with storm overhead.
A bolt of lightening and my heart stops, she's here, across the road.
She's not, she's gone, just an image, but even as I pass she looks out at me in a window.

I've tried to let her go, say goodbye, but how do you let death go?
So much of my life was embodied, and died, with her; am I then being haunted by myself?
The rain hits me like a hail of stones, slamming me in the face and quickly numbing me.
I could go home, but she would still follow, hiding on the otherside of doors.
As it did back then; the storms power thrills me, I imagine dancing with this ghostly apparition through the sheets of rain.

Suddenly I'm in a forest, completely alone and lost.
This place is new to me, the trees cruel and foreign, she's above me!
From high in the wet canopy she plummets, finally hurtling through me, flinging me to the ground.
I hit the rain soaked concrete, blood mixing with water from the cut on my head.
Swearing; I pull myself up, a man hurries over and asks if im ok, I'm ok I tell him wandering off down the street.

I look in the mirror, wiping the blood from my face.
I dont see myself, I see someone mimicing my actions, I ignore her as she walks up behind him.
She pulls the skin from his face and he falls, reaching out for me from the mirror.
More images of us together litter my mental landscape, un-ordered, unplanned, unrecognisable now.
How can I put them away, move on, close the door, knowing shes on the otherside?

ok, this is an odd feeling, havent been in my parents house since before xmas i think. got their pooter fixed which they have decided to be generous and give to me. all it needed was the proper driver for the soundcard, and its been off for god knows, and now it lives!

Lol! well anyway, hopefully this means I shall be able to be online as much as possible. Sorry bout the shortness, will post again when I get it running in my flat.

Things move strangely in the world of mikal at the minute. Am actually considering moving to Carrickfergus. Always thought it was far away but its only 15-30mins on the train/bus. Having compared property in South Belfast with the property there I've found its way cheaper for bigger places. The boyfriend was shocked cos the person I may be movin in with is his ex who we are both good friends with; and a friend of his. In my mind it works cos I know him quite well, and I'll be saving money. The boyfriend complained its too far from town, but it really isn't. Don't get me wrong, a lot of people don't think it's a good idea and I've taken their views on board (plus it wouldn't be till July so i got time to think bout it). The only problem is that I do really want to stay in South Belfast as a friend is moving back here w her partner, and the fact that it is a really nice place to live. Argh! The confusion ... but anyway; other than that, my lack of a phone charger has meant being painfully out of contact w people esp. my family. Slightly concerned as Mum has stopped visiting me. Impressive new developments on the job front mean I may soon be off my ass, in a relatively well-paid job. Considerin goin back to call-center work, though the position I've applied for with the civil service means more opportunities for advancement. I'd better go now, sleep calls etc., take care all.

Finally got round to gettin a new webcam so as soon as i figure out how to post pics here I'll get them up, if anyone knows how lemme know. I like this cam, it makes me look relatively not ugly. My old one was evil Labtec. The new one is Mikomi and theres software with it to make 360 degree pics! Cant believe it was the cheapest one in argos. chillin to within temptation, (((Hugs))) to my boyfriend, thinks he's broken his thumb playin guitar, but u guys know him, wont go n get it checked unless it drops off. Had lots of fun w every1 at venue last night, tanks => for makin it such a good night, just to see c and k talkin again really cheered me up. dont quite know what the fall-out will be from that but hey. I sooooo need a new computer! Using mikes over the weekend is seriously not enough and I'm sure he'd be glad to get the 12.1G I'm currently taking up. I dont think I d/loaded this much when I had my own pooter. Rents might give me theirs, just dunno if i've got the room, also its a desktop and our wireless still isnt back up. Well I gotta head on, hopefully the next time I post it'll be all picturey!

Eep, went to men of the north last night. For those of you who arent gay its a night for bears and their fans to meet. Bears are big, hairy guys. Previous to last night I would've said bears are ok , but not really my cup of tea, my thing still is Stuart Townsend, and Villette from l'Affair du Collier. Now I fear I'm developing a slight attraction to the furrier side of men. Of course I was ludicrously drunk and just sat there in awe of all the testosterone soaked men. I also found myself getting annoyed at my pitiable amount of chest furr. More would be nice but not jungle-man style. Just remembered the taxi driver on the way home seemed very interested in the whole scene o.0, go figure. Should be voice posting and putting new pics up if i can find a (dirt) cheap mic n cam. Venue tonight and possibly some stonerin too. Well better go have shower and hit town. Take kare y'all and watch out for bears. Oh, yeah! I shall be puttin up pics of the Best & Worst Dressers in Belfast soon, you have been warned!

well, lo i come among you again, cheery denizens of lj. I feel quite victorious at the minute. Finished my ancient cities course, just have to finish & send off the 1500 word essay. Have to get my application pack in for my science course and pray it'll be paid for. Just spent 20 mins fighting with 2 thin scarves tied toghether to make a washing line for my room. 4 people + a washing machine thats been broken for 2 months and just got fixed today = nowhere for the last person to put their clothes to dry. I had to commandeer the kitchen radiator and take drastic action for the rest as that radiator only holds 2 pieces of clothing. Hence the scarfey washing line. I may put up more as currently only 4-5 pieces can be dried and I have a lot of clothes. Lost my mobile charger, feel so detatched from the world since my mob died. Missin the boyfriend like hell. Cant believe its the end of January already! Its just hit me I've lived here for 7 months, and spent a large amount of time here, in my little room. Sure its problematic, its so small that blinking creates a mess and the fact that the building opposite me was having major building work & re-pointing done (builders usin power tools less than 2m from my window at 8 r 9 am.), only havin 4 channels, a sink that looks like hell would disdain to vomit into it and gurgles every so often, the toilet being 150cm from my bed leading to *shudders* "the noises" coming through the wall, a radiator thats smaller than my ass (tho bless it, it tries its damndest to heat the room), the fact that the electric meter is attatched to the wall in the hall that is also 1 of my bedroom walls which means that every beep the bloody thing makes i can hear, the business next doors answer phone talking through the wall at 8am, etc, etc. Sorry bout that didnt mean to start ranting, but it has been fun, I'll definatly miss it when I move on to pastures new in 5 months. A friend's been kind enough to offer to move in with me if he's movin out this summer so I should be sorted. However, if anyones looking a new lodger or knows where I can get a cheap 1 bed flat please let me know. Well, I'm away to watch Akira, or Firefly, or something, sayonara.

Any and all responces to this would be appreciated. just got online after watching news24 coverage that tony blair avoided the first debate in the house of commons about the illegal war in iraq in 2 & 1/2 years. I just dont understand how a democratically elected prime minister can ignore his own parliament for that long over a question so important to the future of the uk as that! ur opinions would be greatly valued. I shall be at the venue 2mrw night sat 27th if u'd like 2 join me and debate more over cheap booze!

had a strange day, wandered round in cold till met fry, clairey and other clementy people (sorry i crap w names). fry got me oj, was happy. the wife of clairey arrived and presented her w nu fone, she was v happy. discussed knitting and hogfather. They went to pub, i came home cos skint and boring. and as such i shall only do a wee borin post.
